Redistricting

The redistricting roundtable will provide a forum for interested stakeholders to discuss, and compare notes on, the needs and issues that their communities may face in the upcoming redistricting process. Attention will be given to issues that Asian American and Pacific Islander communities expect to face in California at both the state and local redistricting levels, as well as to redistricting issues expected to arise in other parts of the country. As part of this discussion, participants will be asked to discuss the need for, and opportunities to engage in, coalition-building among racial, ethnic, and other minority communities. Additionally, a portion of the roundtable will be devoted to outreach strategies that Asian American and Pacific Islander and other communities can use to ensure they have a voice on the new redistricting commission established by California's Proposition 11.
